"The Lord is coming, always coming. When you have ears to hear and eyes to see, you will recognize him at any moment of your life. Life is Advent; life is recognizing the coming of the Lord." - Henri Nouwen
A Special Advent Season announcement for Treasure Seeker Parents!
Instead of our normal all-generation service on the first Sunday of the month, our Treasure Seekers will meet! And we will continue to meet the next three Sundays.
We are excited to celebrate this season of Advent with the students and with your households, so we will be sending home Jesse Tree Adventcalendars with your students for you to do together. This first week, we will cover December 1-7 in class.
We encourage you to set time aside with your family to read these stories together, as we focus the arrival of our King!
The morning worship service on December 24 will be a combined service from 10-11:30. The morning is designed so that you can invite your friends and family and will be complete with Christmas parties for children, meaningful worship and some teaching
around the impact of the arrival of Jesus.
The Candlelight Communion service on Christmas Eve will be from 5-6 and will be a time of worship and reflection.
Our December 31 Sunday Morning Service will be one service which starts at 10a.
You may delete the LFA APP as it will no longer be updated. Keep watching for news about the all new app coming out later this month.
Traditionally at this time of year we take an offering for End of Year Giving to the pastors and staff of Living Faith Alliance church. They are charged with taking care of our church and church family.
As Jesus came and gave ALL for us, our pastors and staff do so many things behind the scenes to serve us.
When we come to church, we don't worry if there will be someone at the door to greet us, just a side note, I am not staff! We don't fret over whether the lights will be on, if there will be heat or air-conditioning, or someone to lead us in worship, teach us, and pray for us. These duties are taken care of by people who truly love us and sacrifice for us. And these tasks are not accomplished during regular, 9-5 business hours.
1 Tim 5:17-18 says: "The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching." For Scripture says, “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain,” and “The worker deserves his wages.”
How we bless our pastors and staff says a lot about how we value the gospel.
1 Thessalonians 5:12 says: Dear brothers and sisters, honor those who are your leaders in the Lord's work. They work hard among you and give you spiritual guidance.
How better to honor them than to give from what God has given you.
Please join us in giving a gift to our Pastors and Staff. This can be done in the regular 3 ways: Online, by mail, or in the offering baskets.
The Governing Elders and I are praying that you have a blessed Christmas and remember, Jesus is the true reason for the season! God bless you!
