Look over Luke 10:1-20. In what ways do you see Jesus' instructions as a call to be humble, present, and proclaim the gospel in power? How closely does this describe your mission/ministry?
Talk together about your understanding of incarnation. What ways do you want to grow in doing ministry that is the same mode of incarnation as Christ did? Pray this for each other.
Sometimes Jesus-followers are called to choose to do what is more difficult, even though there may be an option to escape or avoid or choose what’s easier or more pleasurable. Talk together about a time that was true for you.
Pray together about situations you are facing, that you would make choices that honor Jesus.
Some People might change Philippians 1:21 and say, “To me, to live is to have people like me” or “to be popular with my friends” or “to be on top of my bills” or “to have all my family be safe and happy.” Talk about how you might complete the phrase, “To me, to live is _________.”
Since for the Apostle Paul, to live was Christ, he could say, “to die is gain.” His life was all about Jesus, so through death, he had all to gain and nothing to lose. Talk about what you live for that you would lose if you were to die.
Talk about what kinds of situations can make you feel “all is well” or take away the feeling that “all is well.”
Only in the Gospel can we truly find love, safety, and significance. Of those three, which do you think “drives” you the most? Talk about that together.
