Here are some of questions from last Sunday that we didn’t have time to answer. We hope to field more questions about LFA Vision this coming Sunday.
On LFA Vision:
Q: Is the goal for Pastorates on mission to take the place of what summer ministry used to bring to our church in doing ministry and mission together?
A: The short answer is yes. From 2002 - 2007 our whole church mobilized to do Summer Ministry. Some people even used their vacation time from work to be on mission. One of the benefits of that season was LFA became more missional. One of the down sides was we limited our mission to Summers. Now, as each Pastorate focuses on one area of mission, we can have more people involved in mission and do it year round.
From last Sunday’s teaching:
Q: Where in scripture does it say “angelic language”? New term to me.
A: “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels …” (1 Corinthians 13:1). There’s not enough biblical support to be dogmatic in saying that some people speak in the tongues of angels, but some Bible students think there is a hint there that explains the experience of some believers who speak in tongues.
Q: Because of sin is it possible to lose the manifest presence of God forever?
A: While it may be possible to still be a Christian and rarely experience the presence of God, God’s desire is that we would repent, and in doing so, we would seek and find Him (Psalm 145:18; Jeremiah 29:13; James 4:4).
Looking forward to more questions this Sunday,
